We have a number of fixed-term roles available in our Assembly Festival Fringe team in Edinburgh for this summer which are now open for applications. We are hiring across the company for all sorts of roles, and would love to chat to you about what you role might best suit you.

Box Office team

Assembly Festival sets the standard for theatre, comedy, and entertainment and are one of the largest multi-venue operators on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. We present high calibre work in temporary theatre spaces across the city, ranging from lecture theatres and churches to tents and shipping containers. 2022 marks Assembly’s 40th year on the Fringe, and we are set to present a diverse programme of comedy, theatre, dance and music across some of our iconic Edinburgh venues.

The Box Office team are quite often the first point of interaction for guests visiting our site, and are required to have strong communication skills, a keen helpful attitude and be able to answer customer queries. Ideally you should have customer service experience, definitely have an interest in theatre and events, be confident and proactive and love helping people.

Bar team

Bars are an essential part of the Assembly Festival experience, they are the social areas where audiences and performers gather, adding to the energetic buzz of the venues. At Assembly, we pride ourselves on creating unique, professional and safe environments for performers and audiences to get a drink pre-show, as a place to meet friends or to unwind.

As a bar team member, you will be on the frontline, serving drinks and making our customers' day. This role is vital to the overall customer experience, and we expect hard graft and an ability to work in a team with new people, creating a great working environment conducive to an amazing experience. This role requires you to be flexible and mature. Your focus will be on making drinks, dealing with stock, keeping the bar and venue clean, working with other departments and being friendly to customers.

We require all our staff to be over 18 (due to licensing restrictions), have a UK bank account, speak fluent English and have the necessary visa requirements to work in the UK. So if you have previous bar or waiting experience, are passionate about all aspects of bar service, willing to work hard and learn new skills, then it may be for you.

Front of House team

The Front of House team performs an array of duties within the venue. More than just ripping tickets, this job is about seating audiences, answering queries, greeting customers and ensuring everyone's experience at Assembly is a safe and positive one. Front of House teams needs a good understanding of what it means to deliver great customer service and always be positive and ready to help. A love of the performing arts is a great start and you will get to see shows, meet performers and audience alike, and have the best summer ever.

This role gets involved in all aspects of the festival and we have small and large teams across our festival sites, so can suit all sorts of people.

Street Food Operations team

At Assembly, we pride ourselves on the delicious and varied range of street food we present to our customers each year. The street food ops team are trained on the job to deliver generous, healthy dishes in a fast-paced and exciting environment. Split into small teams, successful applicants will have the chance to learn multiple cuisines and workflows and be ready to move between roles as required. If you have a passion for food, or want to learn new skills in the kicthen then this role could be for you.

Coffee is alsso a major feature of the Fringe – it keeps all the hard workign staff and performers going across the month, so if you have a love of caffeine and are willing to leanr, or think you could help teach others then get in touch.

We are looking for Kitchen prep staff, servers, baristas and customer service superstars.
